About Binder & Binder®

Binder & Binder® is a business of Social Security Disability advocates that began on May 19, 1975, when a discouraged and almost penniless ex-New York firefighter walked unannounced into Harry Binder's tiny law office in Patchogue, New York. The firefighter had been injured and eventually became disabled, but his application for disability benefits had been turned down by the Social Security Administration.

He threw a challenge at Harry. He said, "I need a guy to represent me who is a genuine expert on Social Security Disability eligibility and benefits. Is that you?" Harry has always liked challenges - and firefighters.

As Harry always says, "They do stuff I'd be scared to do once, and they do it every day." So Harry hit the law books. And that was the start of a long, difficult and expensive campaign to expose one of our government's best-kept secrets - Social Security Disability benefits. Four years later, Charles Binder left his position as a New York City public defender and joined his brother. Together they formed Binder & Binder®.

It was a small beginning. But clients responded in a big way to the passion, the focus and the "better and nicer" way they were treated at Binder & Binder®. As more clients came to the law firm, they realized that they could not serve all of their clients well unless they invested in resources, technology, talent and a change in structure.

Binder & Binder®, a National Disability Advocacy Company, was formed to serve our SSD clients, "Better and Nicer."

Doing things Better and Nicer ... Nationwide

Even though we have a nationwide presence, we still insist on doing things "Better and Nicer" for clients. The national social security disability advocates we hire work by the same principles we started with years ago, which means that they listen - really listen - to your SSD concerns, and that they focus on dealing with the government so that you don't have to worry about that.

At Binder & Binder®, we do not let the government intimidate our clients. We are always active, aggressive social security advocates for people who can no longer work. It is a tough job, but we have been doing it for a long time. We are good at it and we are proud of the fact that we win such a high percentage of our cases.
